Only the account owner can close the account. Closing signs you out everywhere and cannot be undone from the client area.

Before you can close

The account cannot be closed while:

  • a service or domain is still active: cancel it first (see Auto-renew, and how to cancel a service); the service must have ended, not just have auto-renew off;
  • an invoice is unpaid: pay it, or ask us to cancel it;
  • you still hold store credit: ask for it back from Billing → Store credit first (see Store credit).

The page lists what is still in the way under The account cannot be closed yet:.

Download a copy of your data first if you want one: Download a copy of your data.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Security → Close account and press Close my account….
  2. Optionally tell us Why are you leaving? (optional).
  3. Enter Your password, a Two-factor code if you use one, and type CLOSE in Type CLOSE to confirm.
  4. Press Close my account (or Keep my account to stop).

You are signed out on every device, and the sign-in page says Your account has been closed and you have been signed out everywhere.

What we keep

As the page states: "We keep your personal data for 1 year after the account closes, then erase or anonymise your name, phone, address, contacts, identity documents, tickets and chats. Invoices and payment records are kept as tax law requires." Unused paid-for store credit is refunded to the payment method it came from when you close; free goodwill credit is not refunded.
