Named contacts are people besides you who receive account notices. They do not get a login (for that, see team members).
The roles
- Billing (invoices + payment reminders): receives invoice and payment-reminder emails alongside your primary billing address.
- Technical (service notices): receives notices about your services.
- Abuse (abuse reports): receives abuse reports about your services.
- Domain owner (filed with the registrar for your domains): the person or company the registrar lists as the owner of your domains. One per account. A postal address is required for this role. See The Domain owner contact.
When you sign up, one contact holding every role is created from your own details, so Add a billing contact on the dashboard checklist may already be ticked.
Add a contact
- Open Settings → Contacts and press + Add a contact.
- Fill in Name, Email, Phone (optional, E.164) (international format, for example +8801712345678), Organisation (optional) and, under Postal address, the street address, city, postcode and country code.
- Tick the Roles that apply and press Add contact.
We email the address a confirmation link. Until it is confirmed the row reads Awaiting email confirmation — can't be copied on tickets yet.; press Resend link if needed. The link works for 48 hours, and the contact must press Confirm my email on the page it opens.
A contact's phone number can be confirmed with a code in the same way as your own; see Add a phone number.
Copy a contact on a ticket
Open the ticket, and in the CC card choose the contact under Add a contact. They get the same short notice you do when there is a reply, never the message itself. Only confirmed contacts can be chosen.
Edit or remove
Each row has Edit and Remove. Removing asks Remove …?; confirm with Yes, remove. Changing a contact's email sends a new confirmation link.
