One account can have several people with their own login. Each person has a role that sets what they can change. Everyone on the team can see the whole account and talk to support.

The roles

  • Owner: everything, including closing the account. There is one owner, and the owner cannot be changed from the client area.
  • Admin: everything except closing the account.
  • Billing: invoices, payments, credit, the billing profile and contacts.
  • Technical: services and domains: actions, plans, DNS, transfers.

Only the owner can invite an admin or change someone to admin. Nobody can change their own role.

Invite someone

  1. Open Settings → Team. In the People section press Invite on the row Invite someone.
  2. Enter Their email address and choose a Role, then press Send invitation. The page confirms Invitation sent to …. It works for 7 days.
  3. They receive an email with a link. The page Join the team tells them who invited them and as what, asks for a Password and The same password again, and signs them in on Accept and sign in.

The Invitations section lists pending invitations with Send again and Withdraw.

Change a role, stop or restore access

  • To change a role, pick the new one on the person's row and press Save. They are signed out and get the new role on their next sign-in.
  • Stop access signs the person out and blocks their sign-in. Restore access lets them back in. A member cannot be deleted, only stopped.

Recent activity

Under Recent activity, the team page lists who on the team changed what: the last 100 changes, kept for a year.

Good to know

  • The Sign-in column shows Two-factor on or Password only for each person. Ask everyone to turn on two-factor.
  • Team members are not the same as named contacts: contacts receive notices and can be copied on tickets but cannot sign in.
  • Only the owner or an admin can download the account's data or create API tokens.
