cPanel is the control panel of your hosting account: files, databases, email accounts, SSL and backups all live there. You reach it from the client area without typing a password, or directly with your cPanel username and password.
One click from the client area
- Sign in to the client area and open All services, then Manage on your hosting.
- Open the Manage tab. Under Server controls ("These act on your server directly.") press Log in to cPanel.
- cPanel opens in a new tab. The page notes Opened in a new tab. The link expires in a few minutes.
The link is a one-time sign-in made for you at that moment; if the new tab was blocked by your browser, allow pop-ups for the client area and press the button again. The button is only there while the service is running (not while suspended or still being set up).
Direct, with your username and password
Your username and password were shown once, on the Your login details page linked from the email Your new service is ready — here are your login details, together with the address under Sign in at (the server's address on port 2083, for example https://server.example:2083). Open that address, enter the username and password, and press Log in.
Your cPanel username is a short generated name, not your email address.
If you did not save the password, generate a new one: see Reset your cPanel password. The one-time link cannot be reopened.
Common problems
- "Log in to cPanel" is missing. The service is not running: it may still be setting up, or it is suspended (the page says why). See My hosting is suspended.
- The browser warns about the certificate on the direct address. Use the exact address from Sign in at (the server's hostname), not your own domain, until your domain points at the server.
- You run a reseller plan. Your button says Log in to WHM instead; see Log in to WHM.
