Your cPanel hosting includes email accounts on your domain (for example info@example.com), up to the number your plan allows.

Before you start

The domain must point at your hosting (see Point your domain at your hosting) and use its default mail records. Until it does, mail sent to the address goes wherever the domain's old MX records say.

Create the account

  1. Open your hosting service in the client area, the Manage tab, and press Log in to cPanel.
  2. In cPanel open Email Accounts (under Email) and press Create.
  3. Enter the Username (the part before the @), choose the domain if you have more than one, and set a Password (or let cPanel generate one). Set the Storage Space if you want a limit, then press Create.

The address is ready at once.

Read the mail

  • Webmail: go to https://‹your domain›/webmail (or https://‹server hostname›:2096), sign in with the full address and the password, and choose Roundcube. From cPanel, Check Email beside the account does the same without a password.
  • A mail app on your phone or computer: see Set up your email on a phone or computer.

Common problems

  • Mail does not arrive. Check the domain points at the hosting and that nothing else (an old provider, Google Workspace) still holds its MX records.
  • Forgot the password. In Email Accounts press Manage beside the address and set a new one.
  • "Quota exceeded." Raise the Storage Space in Manage, or delete old mail.
  • Sending bulk mail. Only to people who opted in; see What you may not host.
