Each client site gets its own cPanel account, created by you in WHM.

Steps

  1. Open WHM (see Log in to WHM).
  2. In the left-hand search box type Create a New Account and open it (under Account Functions).
  3. Under Domain Information enter the client's Domain, a Username (WHM suggests one), a strong Password and the client's Email (they receive cPanel notices there, not from us).
  4. Under Package choose one of your packages. You create your own packages: if you have none yet, make them first in Add a Package (under Packages), setting the disk, bandwidth, number of email accounts and so on. Edit a Package changes one later.
  5. Leave the other settings as they are unless you know you need them, and press Create.

WHM shows the account's details. Give the client their cPanel address (your server's hostname on port 2083), username and password; you can also reach their cPanel from WHM's List Accounts with the cPanel icon beside the account.

Limits

You can create accounts up to the number on your plan, and the accounts' packages together must fit within your plan's disk and bandwidth. WHM refuses an account that would exceed them.

Afterwards

  • The client points their domain at the server the same way as any hosting customer: Point your domain at your hosting.
  • The new account appears in the client area under Your customers' accounts on your service page; see Your clients' accounts in the client area.
  • To pause a client who has not paid you, use Manage Account Suspension in WHM; to remove one, Terminate Accounts. These are yours to do; we never bill or contact your clients.
